We did it!! The first part of our ‘100 Mile Journey’ Charity Fundraiser was a success!

On Wednesday 24th June the GGM fundraising team completed the first leg of a 100 mile journey in aid of three charities – St John’s Hospice, Greenfingers Charity and Pendleside Hospice. In sweltering heat our team cycled all the way from St. Johns Hospice in Lancaster to the GGM Depot in Colne – a ride of nearly 50 miles!

The journey which took over 6 hours (amazing going in thirty degree heat), included a total climb of 1,316 metres with stops at Oakenclough, Chipping and Whalley.

We would like to say thank you to Chorley Nissan Group who loaned us the use of an e-NV200 van enabling Hilary Gibson to support the group and provide drinks and lots of encouragement along the way.

The second and final part of the fundraiser takes place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th June and involves walking 51 miles from Colne to Lancaster along the Lancashire Witches Walk, so good luck guys.

Having had such fantastic support so far, we’ve decided to set ourselves a new target of £3,000. Please keep donating so we can support three amazing charities who are struggling in the current environment…
